It's best to tour this Teutonic castle with a guide and hear interesting facts about it. ♥️ Many cultural events also take place here.♥️ There's also a restaurant, but unfortunately, they didn't have any regional beer or even the famous mead produced right here in Nidzica, although the company shop selling mead and other artisanal spirits is only a 5-minute walk from the castle! 😥 ✅ The room I got was basic, but clean and functional. However, older people might have trouble climbing the stairs, especially with suitcases.
Disregard for guest standards! I didn't have a bed cover and I found hair in the duvet! Horrible place.
As lovers of all kinds of castles, fortresses, and palaces, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to stay overnight in a real Teutonic castle. Its location is fantastic, on a park-like hill, and the hotel is located in the castle tower. Overall, the atmosphere is fantastic, the service is friendly, and the breakfasts are very tasty (for an additional fee). Rooms vary in standard and price, but only the most expensive one (the Deluxe Suite) truly offers the feeling of being in a castle, with its brick walls, deep window recesses thanks to the very thick walls, medieval-style metal beds, and knightly weapons (an axe and a two-handed sword) hanging on the walls, along with a flag with Teutonic crosses, the religious symbols of the Teutonic Order. The suite is large and spacious, located almost at the highest point of the tower. The other rooms are located lower down, entirely plastered, with white walls, so it's difficult to feel the castle atmosphere. The only drawback is the hotel's standard, as at this price, sockets and wires shouldn't be sticking out of the wall, and the shower door shouldn't be leaking. The value for money is definitely unfavorable, and when renting a room for over 100 euros, at least breakfast should be included. Among the big pluses, however, are the near-perfect silence (no one else stayed that night except us) and the relatively comfortable beds, which can be pushed together. We haven't slept as well as we did in the Nidzica Castle tower in ages, truly.
