Kogel-mogel brings to mind the good old egg yolk and sugar mixture, but this Kogel-mogel bar isn't just about egg yolk and sugar, but also delicious and enormous dishes just like Mom's. The photos don't show the abundance of this food, but believe me, the portions are truly enormous and very tasty. I encourage you to try the kartacze, because you won't find anything this large and delicious anywhere else in Masuria. Furthermore, the name "bar" actually represents a restaurant, as the dishes are prepared immediately after you order, just like in a restaurant. If something requires more preparation, you can order and return after a short walk in the park, which is just as beautiful as the dishes served at Kogel-mogel.
I'll rate it a 5, but with a big BUT... My review can't be complete, as I only ordered the daily set menu, which is soup and a main course. I have no major complaints about this menu item. In more detail, I'll start with the soups. Cucumber soup and cabbage soup. Both were tasty, really good, but delicate in flavor, and while I don't often season what comes out of the kitchen, I had to do it here. There were quite a few potatoes, but that didn't matter. Second Course: No. 1. Tuscan Chicken + Potatoes + Salad. To put it less cryptically, it's simply chicken breast with spinach and sun-dried tomatoes topped with melted cheese, boiled potatoes sprinkled with fresh dill, and a salad. Delicious; a portion with the soup can be filling. No. 2. Liver + Potatoes + Salad. Everything's clear here. And the taste? The liver was well prepared, although I felt like it had been "sitting" for a while, waiting for a customer, which lost its juiciness. Too bad. The potatoes and salad are the same. No. 3. Pork chop + potatoes + salad. This dish is separate from the set menu. Hmm... I was thinking about what to write here and I don't think I have any ideas. Just pork chop and that's it. In summary, I gave it a 5 ⭐️ only because the food is decent and the price is very reasonable. The place is clean and tidy, and the decor is creative, although the noise of cars passing by the trees is a bit distracting. Some people might not like some of the flavors, but this isn't an expensive restaurant where you can expect more. The set menus are under 30 PLN, which is a plus. So, for a home-cooked meal at a reasonable price, you can visit this place.
Restauracja jest ogólnie w porządku. Zamówiłam pierogi i chciałam do nich śmietanę, ale pani zasugerowała, żebym wzięła smażoną cebulę. Zgodziłam się, ale zaznaczyłam, że jestem wegetarianką i zapytałam, na czym smażona jest cebula. Powiedziała, że "tylko na oleju". Po długim oczekiwaniu dostałam talerz pierogów z cebulą i boczkiem na wierzchu. Jest mi przykro pisać tę recenzję, ale dwa razy prosiłam, żeby posiłek był wegetariański, tak na wszelki wypadek :( Mieliśmy też pierogi z jagodami, te były pyszne.
Jeśli chcesz spróbować czegoś naprawdę autentycznego, to jest to miejsce! Nie znajduje się nad jeziorem, ale na początku głównej części miasta. Obsługa jest BARDZO MIŁA. Dania specjalne lub danie dnia zmieniają się codziennie i obejmują zupę, białko, skrobię i warzywa. We wtorki i czwartki są kartacze (kluski ziemniaczane nadziewane mięsem), a pierogi codziennie. Obsługa jest również bardzo szybka (co jest rzadkością w tym miejscu). Możesz zjeść na miejscu lub wziąć na wynos i usiąść na ławce nad jeziorem, jeśli lubisz. Jedzenie jest takie, jakby mama czekała na ciebie z gorącym posiłkiem! Nie mogę polecić bardziej. Dziękuję!!!
Szczerze mówiąc, szukałem tradycyjnego polskiego jedzenia, które smakuje wybornie i ma świetną cenę. To miejsce JEST TYM MIEJSCEM! Smakuje jakby robiła to moja babcia. Znalazłem moje nowe ulubione miejsce do jedzenia w Ełku! Jadłem kartacze, które były przepyszne! Szczerze mówiąc, to najlepiej strzeżona tajemnica tutaj.
